Needle Arts in DFW

In our 40+ years of existence, DNTG has been involved in many different types of programs and made three major presentations to the City of Dallas:

  • DNTG hosted needlework shows at Southwestern Bell, Sakowitz Village, Neiman Marcus, Old City Park, and the Discovery Gardens at Fair Park.

  • The Peaceable Kingdom designed by Joan Gant and Carolyn Walker.  This was auctioned off in the late 70’s with the proceeds going to the Dallas Museum of Fine Art.  It was donated back to the museum on the death of the purchaser, DNTG member Virginia Bagwell in 2009.

  • Wildflowers of Texas designed by Irene Nichalou and presented to the Dallas Main Library in 1985.  It is located in the stairwell between the sixth and seventh floors.

  • A series of four panels depicting the four seasons was designed by Irene Nichalou and stitched by DNTG members to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 1996.  It is showcased in the garden building in the Horticultural Building at Fair Park.
